There's been plenty of discussion on companies that rip off designs and are overall less than satisfactory to interact with.

Currently, my collection consists of foursevens, olight, fenix, zebralight, titanium innovations, maglite and sunwayman.

Generally i stay away from "politics" but curiosity has gotten the best of me.

My question is, what are the most stand up/reputable brands (in your experience/opinion of course) to purchase flashlights from ?

I'm referring to companies that you have utmost confidence with their products. From the customer service to their innovative (not copied) designs. Does it still exist?

Let's keep the responses with production names and not customs.

Thanks 🙂

Personally, I think Surefire has as good customer service as any company I've ever dealt with. I don't always like their lights or their pricing but they're doing something right.

i have only had to deal with customer service with surefire, (because of a poorly designed light) and jetbeam, a bc10 that literally exploded. both companys were very professional.

Not to get too off track but do u know why you bc 10 exploded.

Further discussion of this topic should be in its own thread, if one is started.

ive personally have had great customer service experiences with surefire and fenix.
i hear malkoff has exceptional service.... im a proud owner of quite a few malkoff produtcts, and have never had any problems.
HDS is another with good reputation, as well as foursevens.
i also know pelican has great customer service, a friend of mine accidentally ran over his 7060 with his truck. they replaced it with a new one no questions asked.

Surefire has come through whenever I needed something fixed. Oveready has always gone waaay beyond to please their customers too.

I've dealt with Streamlight & Surefire for repairs both were honest, fair and fast, Sunwayman CS was great at getting the parts I asked for

SureFire,
Streamlight,
Fenix,
Jetbeam,
Inova
4Sevens
... but with all of them, I dont have actual models (iirc, Jetbeam quality is now questioned often. My Jet III Pro ST I.B.S. simply was outstanding)

dunno if overready and nailbender can be named flashlight manufacturer, the service is great

Malkoff rates very highly with me. I have not needed any warranty service from them but they have been very responsive and professional in all my dealings with them. Based on my experience with them and accounts from others on this board I am 100% confidant that should warranty work ever be required, they will stand behind their product.

My only other dealings have been with SureFire and to be honest I was very disappointed with my last experience. I did finally receive a replacement part (belt clip for my LX2) but it wasn't exactly "no hassle" like they advertise. I first used their new online tool to order the part but then didn't hear anything for two weeks. I followed up with an e-mail and received a response saying they would get the part in the mail. After waiting 3 more weeks I called and spoke to someone who could find no record of my earlier requests. He then promised I would have the clip within a week and I received it 6 days later. The moral of this story, which has been said by many others on this board, call them if you have a problem. In my case, the online ordering tool and e-mail were a waste of time.

Yeah, that's the caveat for dealing with Surefire: Don't do it online. They put the humans on the phone and get gerbils to read the emails. Most of the "bad Surefire customer service" posts involve attempts at handling it by email or on their site.

Honestly, I've never had any trouble with anybody 🙂 , flashlights, battery's, lens, drop-ins, chargers. Now, I don't buy cheap 🙂 I go for slightly above middle and up.

IMO, HDS is one the most dependable lights on the market, but I guess, with the loooong delays in the recent past to at least respond to the many queries about the delays in production and shipment, that would be a strike against CS. My personal experience with Henry, and my three lights has been nothing but positive.

i have only had to call customer service once, it was for an eagletac that flickered... they sent me an rma number and address to send it to in china and it was back within 3 weeks working fine

i have to pay the $5 shipping to china, but i dont care about $5 honestly as long as it got fixed and in a timely manner

I was wondering about that since I've been thinking of getting a used HDS. If it needs work do you need to wait six months to get it back?

No. Warranty work is done pretty speedily. Couple weeks maybe in my experience.

To be honest when I brought my HDS I did so after a lot of research and after reading tons of testimonials about it's reliability and dependability. After using, not abusing, my light for two years it became unreliable and had to be sent back for repair. Now I understand that any light can fail or experience issues but the fact that it did was disappointing. However HDS in terms of customer service so far has been great and I'm pretty confident my issue will be fixed. Any e-mail I sent them has been responded to quickly and the same for calls. IDK what type of turn a round to expect with warranty work but when I last contacted them I was warned of their on going supply problems and that it may effect when I get the light back.
