-This could fall under either Incan or Bike lights, I put it here because of the beamshots; if it should go in bikes, hopefully the mods will be kind enough to move it! -

OK, so I'm building a light for commuting and such on bike since the days are getting shorter now (I always ride to the bar, not worth a DUI). Its based on the MR-11 bulb assembly with a 6v 9Ah lead-acid battery. I have two different bulbs. a 6V 10W 24 degree and a 6V 15W 24 degree bulb. The following are beamshots for those who are interested:

6V10W24D

6V15W24D

Guess which one I'm going to use!

Now to test them out... Just need to fab up some type of bar mount!

out of curiosity, what is the bulb life rating on the lamps.... the 10W looks to be at a much lower color temperature, typical of 2000-4000 hour bulbs, where the 15W appears very white, like that of a 50 hour bulb.

or perhaps it's just your camera not holding the same white point for both shots....

I would think that for a bike light, you would want to maximize efficiency and keep weight down, but I suppose the lead acid is certainly a lot cheaper.

lead acid is sicnificantly cheaper, but i do not know the bulb lif rating of the bulbs. I can say say that 24 degrees is too way as it offers minimal throw when I'm cruising. Does anybody know a good place for bulbs?

Are we talking bicycle or motorcycle? Either way, it's still a DUI here in Louisiana  oh and nice beamshots, like the 15w better.
