Can't remember the year exactly but I went to a Tool concert many years ago.

Dust in the Wind

The show that led to a meltdown by the lead singer.
Kings of Leon had gone from a garage band, cult following to a main stream hit maker band. The kids at the Reading show wanted to hear the hits. When the band played older tunes the reaction was luke warm at best. The lead singer Caleb Followay was taking steroid injections for his voice and the band was tired from touring.

They had an underground following in the US but were huge in Great Britain up to that point. With their hit record many long time fans felt betrayed. "Another great band has sold out" they said. So when the shows in Great Britain began to result in luke warm receptions the band nearly called it quits.

I used to say "someday Dave Matthews will open for these guys" after seeing them in a small club in Raliegh North Carolina before the hit records. Like the Black Crowes, these guys do some great songs but their super stardom also led to their demise.
