That was my only problem too. For such a well built, expensive light, the beam profile sucked.

So I was fortunate enough to own one of these jewels a while ago and foolishly sold it off, and now I am having seller's remorse. I've gone through quite a few different pocket lights, from Mini 123's, Preons, Fenix LD01SS, and currently a Peak Eiger hi-cri, and for some silly reason I have a hankering for the Aeon.

I am more concerned with build and beam quality than absolute brightness, and I remember just how confidence-inspiring that little light was.

So, can it still be competitive and a worthy buy?

Here's the shots from the one I sold, for those of you not familiar with this light.

One of the most reliable light I've ever owned. Wonderful analog driver, incredible runtime on low (which was ok for 90% of the tasks). I also sold mine and regret it now.

My only complaint was the beam with the donut. The green tint never bothered me, I would even say it was a great tint for outside use. Definitely still worth every dollar...

I would say yes it's still a good buy. I bought one awhile back and love it. So I then tracked down an Ion as floody accompaniment. Now I just got a Mako, and also have a Ti Nautilus on the way from Enrique. I think his lights are fantastic, obviously. Tiny, easy to carry, simple, reliable, excellent quality. For me these are the important things.

If I lost mine - I would be hunting another one down.

The Aeon is not a light you buy looking at the numbers "300 bucks for a 100 lumen light - yea right" (less for the Aluminium one, but the point still applies)

It is a light you buy with your brain, 2 well spaced and very useable outputs, long runtime, small size, bulletproof TI build, flawless machining,
It's a "lifetime light" a quality tool you purchase, with the intention of using it, then handing it down to your kids, not overly pretty, or super bright, but simple and functional and will keep doing what it was designed to do for a long long time, picking up little marks and scars from its owner over the years, much like any other good hand tool.

Mine is not my primary edc, it is my always with me EDC though, it hangs on a lanyard around my neck, unless I'm in the shower or a swimming pool, it has been there for over a year, and is on it second battery, not because the first one died, but I needed a CR2 for my laser pointer, so the aeon got a new one and the laser got the lightly used one.

After a year of edc the brass bits have formed a patina, and there is some dust in around the lanyard ring hole.
Other than that it still looks brand new.

If I lost it there would be a WTB posted very quickly.
