Re: MX25L3vn - Best of 2014

Doing emails now and noticed a lot are ordering XPL against my recommendation for XPG2 PDTc...

XPL dedome is nice outdoor though.

Re: MX25L3vn - Best of 2014

From now on lets refer to this light as the 6X I am tired of typing out the name.

6XP for 6XPG2 Dedome
6XL for 6XPL Dedome

All sold out for now. I have more coming but not sure when. :-)

Re: MX25L3vn - Best of 2014

Three things:

1. What is the point in ordering XPG2 instead of XPL, it looks from the pics as though XPL has just as much throw as XPG. will someone who gets this light please take some long distance shots with their so we can compare?

2. Take the following example, you have one super "xpg3" that equals approximately 6 xpg2s Wouldn't the single XPG3 with a large reflector throw better than the 6xpg2's each having their own small reflector?

3. Will this throw better than M25C2vn? How about TK61vn throw king?

Dude all the questions you have can be fould if you resd post 1. Jmpaul already tested this light. Itd on post one and in jmpaul results thread. 135kcd and 3000 otf lumens. You have to realize hoe small this light really is
Btw it does out throw the xpl quite a bit. Vinh likes the tint better on the xpg2 as do it and the extra throw is nice.
135kcd is quite good for this light as stock is under 50kcd.
Its pretty obvious this wont out throw the m25c2vn and tk61vn. If you again were to look at post 1 you wound see that the stock tk61 out throws it.... xpl was not measured yet but it will be brighter with slighty less throw. The other advantage to xpg2 is heat build up is much less then xpl

XPL has not been measured yet - my guestimate (wild guess) would be around 3700-4000 OTF and around 60-70,000 lux or so for throw. IT will be hard to measure throw on the xpl model since there is a small donut hole effect

Except that they aren't.

Re: MX25L3vn - Best of 2014

Just to clarify, the stock light has 4 levels of light, but the first page is only showing 3 levels. I though this light was given a current bump, not a whole new driver. Can someone clarify for me? ~3000 to ~90 lumen is a huge jump without having something in between. Thanks.
And the official answer is (thank you jmpaul):

2949@ turn on, 2766@ 30 sec
921 mid
206 low
5 firefly

Now that, to me, is about perfect!
