Recently ive been doing more night riding as the weather has warmed up and had two L2D q5's that really light up the road good at night.
A few days ago i received the new Fenix LD20's, two of them, i had a good play with them before mounting them along with the L2D's.
Man, these are much better than the L2D's imho, they feel stronger, have anti-roll, the knurling is more grippy, and it has a deeper reflector whitch gives them great throw, the crenulated bezel looks really nice also.
Anyhow, after mounting them all and aligning all the beams, i took it out for a spin around the streets. Strewth these things lit up the roads like daytime, the difference between two L2D's and two L2D's plus two LD20's is amazing. The leap in performance was huge, the L2D's are more flood and the LD20's really give great long range illumination.
On my way home i swung by a friends house to show him and his brother, they are both mildly fasinated by my lights, i had all 4 on turbo mode and they were astounded by the output. I asked him if he could get in his car and drive up the road so i could pass him too see what they looked like.
He said they were brighter than cars headlights on high beam coming towards him, (i think they may be angled abit too for upwards) and that if he saw it coming towards him he wouldnt know what it was.
I also rode behind him for abit as he was doing a u turn back to his house and the fenix's made a great shadow infront of his car, with his lights on, he drives a old camry, the lights on it arnt too good but, i could clearly see the shadow my lights were making of his car on the surrounding houses, fences etc.
Gee, i love these new lights, im thinking of getting a few more to mount, as well as some for my helmet, i reckon about 12 all up.
Ill get some pictures and beamshots up in the next few days and maybee a youtube video.
Cheers...
