Yeah .. I have good ones and bad ones ..
So from the perspective of poor edge retention !
The following knives have disappointed !

Ruike 801 ( and a few other Ruike ) - 14c28n .. Just can't run with the big dogs !
I had to sharpen twice Cos , some how ! The edge picked up damage ! I don't know how ?
Was going to go out and slice rope when my nail felt a nick on the edge ..
Magnification showed edge damage .... So I had to re sharpen !

100 slices of rope and the knife could no longer slice thru the ALDI advertising in a straight line .
Edge wear was causing deflection . @ 150 slices it was tearing the paper and failing to slice it .
Yeah ! Ruike is on my list of knives to avoid , not cos they can't bolt a knife together ! They can do that real well !
It's cos their blade steel blows chunks . ( Edge retention )

SRM D@ ..
Yeah , another disppointing knife from a perspective of edge retention .
Yes , the knife is bolted together nicely .... Butt !
The blade steel is very Ho Hum !
At least it did better than the RUIKE ! ...

Yes , this will be the new ... methodology !
When the knife can no longer slice / cut the paper in a straight line ! = a failure point .
Yes the knife is still sharp enough to function as a knife .. But the edge is dulling and can no longer shave hair ...
Also the other issue is that the ALDI add rags are made from cheap N nasty paper and a dull but well formed edge might ... tear thru cleanly enough to emulate a slice / cut .
And yes , I will need to re test a more impressive knife from the way back machine .
Also why I post video .. So you can see with your own eyes .

And this video was made with my new ( today ) Motorola Phone .. I needed a new Phone cos the Wizards of Oz deemed to close the 3G network and Shaft everyone not already owning a voLTE phone . Oh those wizards !

RealSteel Luna Lite D2
My FAV disappointing knife !
Generally , D2 falls into the 400 to 500 rope slice range ( Some do better / some do worse )
The LL did 350 consistently ..
In this test it did 250 , 100 shy of the 350 ... = Which looks to be about right ( Aldi rag VS printer paper )
So the blade steel seems consistent .
Love the concept & not so much the blade steel . Paid too much for a ho hum cutter .
But looks like the best disappointing knife so far . Should I keep score ?

FreeTiger FT31 D2 (?)
I am guessing this knife was made by SRM ( because ) SRM makes and sells the exact same knife .
Also the poor edge retention is a clue ( all my SRM have poor edge retention ) .
I may have to test all my SRM next (?)

Anyways the FT31 felt it ( loss of edge retention after 50 slices ) and failed at 150 slices .
Hmmm , CONTROL KNIFE ? If mem serves , my Ganzo ............ ? 41 was it ? did maybe 800 on the rope / printer paper ?
I'll have to check which knife should be a control knife , something in the 800 range probably from previous testing .

So SRM next ? ( Very disappointing knifes for me )
