I love my incans..But I built a simple one that makes me happiest.
I bought a 3C Mag, dropped a KD OP Reflector and a borofloat lens in it, a 3.3 volt voltage regulator (installed in a small puck between the switch and the positive side of the battery stack, grounded against the flashlight body), a no-name 3 volt Halogen bulb, and 3 NiMH C cells.
It's guilt free, scare free, easy to find, and pumps out beautiful, regulated light. It doesn't run for super long, but it pumps out white light.
