I purchased my JetBeam from Emilion's Workshop (JB's Hong Kong distributor)

New quality control sticker.

Tail cap is the hard pressing type. Harder than Nuwai X1 / RiverRock 1w1aa. No problem for me, but some like it softer. Middle part is softer for the soft-press mode cycling function. Seems to work perfectly fine so far.

Tailcap removed reveals double o-rings with some lube on threads and rings.

Head removed reveals less lube than tail. The head on mine is also a little tighter and harder to twist. Will have to clean and lube the entire light later.

v2 Left, v1.2 right. v2 has slightly flatter diamonds, not as rounded on the edges. It's hard to tell from the photo below, but the v2 is also slightly darker in color.

But quick shot on the wall reveals that my C-LE v2 has a greener tint. Not as green as my L2D but noticeable. Width of flood and hotspot appear similar if not the same. Would need further testing when it gets darker.

Overall, about ten bucks more expensive than v1.2. I like it for the convenience of the tail clicky. Light is larger, but not by much. Recommended? Yes. But be prepared to clean and lube the threads once again if you want to maximize the light's ease of use.

I ordered on Thursday night, last week and received shipping notification from a 'Emil Lee' on Friday. $3 must be for EMS Express? Didn't realize it was so quick.

Do the head and tail cap fit together well? My 1.2's had very loose heads.

My 1.2 seemed just right after lubing, this 2.0 seems too tight on both ends. Will have to see after cleaning and lubing tonight, but out of the box it can't be operated with one hand for sure.

Maybe tight is good - I forgot it's now a clicky, heh.

It would be nice if Jetbeam would sell a 'twisty tailcap' for the new CLE, it wouldn't take much. Giving it standard with the light would be even nicer, but who am I kidding? :p Maybe a clicky battery tube for the 1.2 while I'm dreaming.

Just to confirm as of a minute ago,

-soft pressing the clicky
-hard pressing the clicky
-twisting tailcap

All cycle the functions. Like a Fenix with the bonus of a memory function. :twothumbs

I hope this is what you were hoping to hear.

I did know that, but thanks for pointing it out. It's basically a matter of cutting off current to the circuit, by any means, to switch modes. I mention the alternative of a 'twisty tailcap' as it would allow a slightly shorter light like the 1.2 for those that prefer that form of light.
 
It took exactly seven days to receive my JetBeam CL-E V. 2 from Emilion's, and it is a big improvement over previous versions. I much prefer the clicky tail switch, and that makes it the perfect single-AA flashlight for me. I really can't think of much left to improve!

Jetbeam would have to produce a different batch of twisty for the v2. The older v1.2 did not have its tail threads anodized, but the v2 does.

I also noticed that on the box the v2 is supposedly rated at 100lm. Dunno about that...

I still want one.:thumbsup:

Actually, the C-LE V2 works perfectly using the tail cap as a twisty.
In fact, specifically because the threads are anodized.
The electrical contact is completed by the end face of the battery tube when the tail cap is tightened.

All you have to do is click the switch to the "on" position, and just loosen and tighten the tail cap just like you would a regular twisty switch.
Tried this myself, changing of modes and everything work perfectly.

Take not that you can't use the head as a twsity switch though
The the battery's "+" end will always be touching the head's PCB contact due to the spring in the tail cap.

I wish JETBeam used a GITD clicky instead of a red one. Maybe reverse GITD's were unavailable. Too bad.

-A limited run of black v2's will be available. Notes and photos in the Manufacturer's forum.

does the V2 will work on 14500?

"Input Voltage: 0.7-2V" IIRC someone tried with a version 1.2 and the light went :poof: after a few seconds. The new JET-I MK.II will work with 14500. Supposed to get up to 180 lumens too according to JB.

I concur.

When the CL-E was a twisty (albeit head twisty), everyone wanted a clicke.
When it became a clickie, people now want a tail twisty. :thinking: :nana:

For my own personal preferences, I would rate usability of a twisty as 'worst'. You practically can't operate it with one hand.
