My Lightwave 3000\'s Arrived
Nice sized little light!! Looks exactly the same as the 2 LW4000's I have, only smaller. Fits the hand great.
I have no way to objectively test these, but played around in a darkened bedroom with white walls, and tested the LW3000 against my Trek7 and Nitebuster 8x. Brightness seems a tad better than the Trek7, but definately more bluish than the Trek7's light, and the light circle is smaller, more compact on the wall. Much easier to operate, and feels better in the hand than the Trek7 does. I like that push button switch better than the twist top on the Trek7. Against the Nightbuster 8X, my eye can't see any brightness difference. Both are very bluish compared to the Trek7;s light though, which I actually hate. I love the whiter LED's. I wonder if the newer 5600 LED's are pushed more and therefore more bluish? My Action Light for instance, seems almost pure white compared to these things, but then again, it's got the older 4,000 mcd LED's in it......
The LW3000 definately makes a good camping, car, or around the house light. So does the LW4000 of course, but this smaller size seems to feel really good in the hand. Mine are definately keepers.
