Here are the test results:

Gray 3D Mag.

Borofloat lens.

WA potted 1185 bulb.

Fivemega cammed aluminum reflector.

Fivemega 9AA to D battery holder.

9 Duracell 2050maH batteries charged to ~ 1.39v on the Duracell 1 hour charger - left on charger for an hour after lights turned green.

In the end:

Total runtime was around 30 minutes. I stopped the runtime test to check cell temperature 4 times, cells were warm, not hot.

No reflector discoloration or damage was present and there was no damage to the black plastic stock switch assembly.

The base of the potted bulb had a slight indentation from the metal slug it sits against in the tube. There was no other damage to the bulb.

Brightness slowly faded and took a nose dive at around the 30 minute mark with cells remaining warm, not hot.

I love my Mag 85.

Depending on what Modamag made of my "keep the other stuff until the 1160s come"...

I might find out pretty soon what 2100 Energizer/Sanyo batteries do to an 1185.

I'm pretty dang impressed so far with an 1174 and an FM SMO Drop in reflector (no lense as I have no glass).

1185 is supposed to be a big step up... and that is good as I burn stuff every several days! Won't need matches with an 1185 close to newspaper!
