In my SAK collection, my preference is by far the lockblade models that have easy to open blades (e.g. the "One Hand" models). I have all of the Lockblade "One-Hand" models, including the Rescue Tool. While these models are great when the main knife is needed, they don't seem to have a lot of options in their secondary tools.

What seems to be missing in the SAK lineup is a "One Hand" lockblade model that has all of the tools that the "Classic" Swiss Army tools have. Am I alone in wanting such a beast?

I agree that the one hand lock blades are great. I wish they'd use a better locking mechanism in them though. I hear ya about lack of options. I WANT SCISSORS ^%$#%#! A slim one hand with scissors and a pocketclip with yellow or glowing handles would be awesome.

Yep. Onehand, yellow, scissors, plain blade, removeable clip, can opener blade and caplifter blade. The additional small blade wouldn't hurt. No saw.

You mean kinda like this one?? :D

What? No toothpick or tweezers?

Interesting, the Bundeswehr model I have doesn't have scissors or what appears to be an additional awl (or small phillips?). What is it?

I really want one with yellow or GID. One has been made in yellow, but it had "Rescue Tool" emblazoned in red on the scales. Just not my style.

That is a custom that Bill aka Scibeer did for me a while back. He combined parts from a Bundeswehr OHT and an Outrider. The skinny and long tool is a small phillips.

I agree about scissors, that would be awesome.

Also, it would be nice to have a blade without the serations in some lockblade models... and a thicker/stronger blade.

I've NEVER used a toothpick in my SAKs, but I often use tweezers.

Tweezers are great to remove splinters, honey bee stingers, glass, etc. from injuries. That is kind of why I wish there was also a magnifying glass in my lockblades... since I have many cactus plants in my garden, I've gotten very fine spines in me which the tweezers are great at... but the super fine cactus spines are so hard to see without a magnifying glass.

I like having the toothpick and tweezer. Best use for the toothpick, other than as a toothpick, is to help pick backlashes on fishing reels. I do use the tweezers some. I've always carried a small magnifier in my day pack.

If I could combine the OHT with the Explorer, that would be my ideal SAK. I would say change the philips to an end mounted #2 driver and add a corkscrew, then add scissors. All the basic tools I need and nothing extra. I'm ok with the black scales, but yellow or red would be ok with me too. If I had to ask for a color, it would be blaze orange scales.

Another vote for blaze orange scales, kind of wondering why Victorinox has not done so yet.

Yep the two standard SAK tools are great, as are tweezers. Instead of the toothpick I'd like a slot for the ballpoint pen.

If there's room the phillips would be okay for me on the main side of the knife. But ugh no wood saw.
On a completely different model I'd love to have a similar setup as above but with plyers (instead of scissors) and the fine saw/ file.

Personally I'd take a corkscrew as my #1 choice for the back side. (almost) Nothing could be worse than having a great bottle of wine and not being able to enjoy it. But I know some people completely disagree on this.

I also would like a very simple super slim SAK seat belt cutter. Just he cutter, the Large screw driver for prying, and the glassbreaker tip. A slimmed down version of the rescue tool pretty much.

Oh I have big dreams for SAKs...

I am only a fan of the 58mm models, of which I EDC the Manager Onyx. As a second-generation building contractor w/ a strong interest in automobiles, I have way too many tools to do just about any job in general construction and car repairs :) . Just wish the Manager would add a larger slotted screwdriver and replace the small blade with a larger Phillips :mecry: .
