My turquoise arc is disappointing.

I have 3 arc ls hybrids seconds from arc, one arc AAA turquoise fromtexas tactical, and one arc AAA le from texas tactical. I'm happy with them all except for the arc AAA turquoise.

I looked at the arc homepage for the arc AAA and the picture for the turquoise light really is a turquoise, almost a baby blue in the photo. This is why I chose to buy this flashlight. Turns out that my arc AAA turquoise is a pure green. It's this color with a fresh AAA duracell or with a fresh nimh AAA. It makes no difference.

It is very disappointing. However, the light itself is well made. I like all the other arc lights.

I have kept quiet for a long time. But after receiving my first true cyan light from elektrolumens the other day, a 5watt cyan 5D flashlight, I got to see what true cyan looks like and I have to say it is a lot prettier and clearer and brighter to the eyes than green. I'm not talking about the intensity of the light, since 5watt is super bright, but I'm talking about the color. It' a lot brighter appearing to the eyes than the emerald green grass color.

The first Arc I ever bought was a turquoise. For the past year and a half, I thought it was green but I didn't want to complain about it.
Finally I now have a green and blue to compare it to and it is indeed turquoise.

Does yours look like my turquoise, or my green?

Mine is indeed turquoise. Compared it to an EternaLight Ergo 3 with Green/White option, a Photon Green, and an Inova Microlite Green. There's a definite difference between the greens and turquoise.

This has been discussed here before if you want to do a search through the threads. I'm very pleased with mine!

Maybe you indeed have a "green" ARC AAA?

I have the Turquoise EV and would definately say its not green. It is between the turq and green posted above and quite bright. It definately delivered the WOW! factor when I first fired it up. I think its a great little light that has gotten into the EDC rotation.

I have an Arc AAA turquoise also. It is somewhere in between the turquoise and green posted as well. I like it alot, it's very useful for reading menus, pill bottles, very small print and such for my over 40 eyes. In fact, it has replaced reading glasses in many cases. It took a little while to get used to it, at first I had a hard time using it for anything but playing around with kids and such. But now, it's much easier to carry around than reading glasses, and often works just as good.

My turn ! I've had six turquoise Arc AAA's ( I give them out for gifts ). One of them was quite green, the other five were more blue(they were the EVs). The variation is normal for LEDs. My two Cyan LS's are green also, but so bright I really do not care. And I have the 5 watt cyan 5D flashlight from elektrolumens, now that is the prettiest ( and biggest and brightest) of the bunch. I can see why comparing the 5 watt cyan to the green AAA would cause disappointment (but in size it like comparing a battleship to a row boat). But I fear we will never see a 5 watt cyan Arc LS.

It's not a bad light. Mine is greener.
It's just that I was going by the picture they have up on the Arc homepage website of the turquoise arc AAA's beam color. The posted picture is a brilliant baby blue. I thought that was the actual color I was going to receive, that's all. Their picture built up false hopes in me so when I actually got it, I had been hoping for that baby blue color shown in the photos at Arc on their orderring page for new ARC AAA's.

I wasn't comparing it to the other Arc AAA turquoises out there. I was comparing it to the picture on the sales page. I like that color.

I just looked at their site, I see what you mean, mine is no where near the color on the website, it looks bright green next to that picture too. Still, I use it alot more than I thought I would.

Would anybody who is good with photoshop like to color correct our photo? That was taken without any alteration but my Kodak digicam just doesn't show the correct tint.

I'll add my quick opinion as well.

The Arc EV is not a true green like my Inova Microlight but it is not as turquoise as my Photon II either. Going from memory, I beleive the Photon II is 500nm while the Arc EV is 505.

I also like the color of the 500nm Photon II better than the Arc EV.

Any chance you'll reconsider phasing out the turquoise AAA's?

Of all the gifts I gave this Christmas, these were the most well received. It's very disappointing to see this choice taken away from consumers.
