I used two differant VOM and still reads O volts. Is this normal? If I left the light by mistake could it really go to 0 volts? Should I try charging it or is it garbage.

I've had one cheap 123 cells protection circuit go bad and would not recharge. I removed the ciruit and the cell works fine.

Sadly some chargers wont recognize tripped Li-Ion cells, a little creative trickle charging is the cure ;)

Interesting I have always wondered just how creative one needs to get in order to "revive" a tripped Li-Ion cell. Anyone care to explain or give some clues. I looked around the forums for awhile now and no luck. Thanks in advance.

The proper way would be to use a bench power supply set at something like 3.2V.
The "creative" way is to string two fresh alkaline AAs in a series and connect them to the LiIon for, say, two seconds or thereabouts.

You might want to use a resistor in series if you're going to use a battery to charge another battery. The internal resistance of the battery might be low and cause an extremely high charging current.

Thanks for all the tips.

I hooked the battery up to the wf-139 charger for 2 seconds. I put the VOM and it now reads 3.59 volts. I Will charge in the am.
