National Flashlight Day 2022

So, National Flashlight Day is coming on Wednesday. Does anybody have plans to celebrate the day?

The latest report I heard said the central US along the Canadian border is expecting -50 to -70F then. It will then move eastward somewhere the Great Lakes by Friday with snow or rain, depending on where this storm system moves. There's warnings of possible power failures due to the cold too. It might be advisable to not only get your lights ready, but your other emergency supplies too.

I bought "storacell" Moonshine {glow in the dark} battery holders for my aa,aaa, 123, and 18650 cells...........cheaper than shopping for another light, LOL

What lights/batteries do you use in those conditions?

I celebrate it each year in a small, unofficial way depending on the weather. It's usually cold so it's usually a short celebration. This year I have a young dog so we may do fetch after dark.

I just learned about this day (or I had forgotten it existed). I spent whole day indoors working at the home office and cleaning up so not so much of a celebration. Maybe next year

Yes, the shortest day of the year for most. I think there are places way up north with a night that lasts several days or something like that.
