A bit back I got the idea to change the tail cap on my NEBO light with that of a push cap version. I didn't want to dish out any money on this experiment as I was already expecting the arrival of my first quality EDC light. Yet I wanted to gift my old EDC light to my sister. I was hoping I could give it to her with a tail cap type button as the flute style button was really uncomfortable and initially was what made me search for a better EDC light.

I had a really nice looking light lying around that was all black and looked ,well pretty dam serious which is why I had bought it in the first place. It cost me $2.00 at the time of purchase and I though it was a steal given the light looked like something james bond would carry in his coat. Initially I wanted to mod this light ,but never did since I'm not well versed in wiring ,soldering and electrical techniques.

Any hoo ,I removed the tail cap of the $2.00 light placed it on the NEBO CSI and wala! A couple of new features came to life in the NEBO.

I could lock out the light so that it would not go of in my pocket.

I could set the light so that every time I clicked the tail cap I accessed the laser

I could set the light so that every time I clicked the tail cap I would set of the regular white lite

I could set the light so that I could shuffle between laser or white light right from the tail cap.

Any one familiar with the NEBO CSI knows that originally this light come with a tail cap which its only purpose it to tail stand. And that the laser and white led feature must be accessed from the top ala flute playing style. And what's more you have to shuffle through the laser or led light every single time you want to access either one. Plus there is not way to lock out the button. Which means the light will more than likely go of while in your pocket as I came to see on several occasions when bring the light out of my pocket only to find it on.

One more thing the threading on the tail cap of the $2.00 light had a decent but not great fit when it went onto the NEBO. I remedied this by wrapping some plumbers tape around it.

All turned out well and I handed my sister the light along with a swiss tech tool attached to it via a lanyard on the tail cap. Now if only I could get her to carry the dam thing with her LOL.
