Need a blow me away flashlight

I've got some extra money. I'm looking for a flashlight that will really make me go "wow." The real flashlights I have are Maratac AAA, Arc AAA DS and GS, Fenix LD10, Nitecore D10, surefire e1b backup, petzl tikka headlamp, and some other lights like mag and leatherman, fauxtons, fenix e01, gerbers...

I've just payed off my vehicle and my orthodontic work. I'm looking to treat myself to a real flashlight. I want something that will really blow my socks off... well not really a vent with flame situation, but you know what I mean.

I want something EDCable, but not excluding two-cell lights, as I EDC a man bag (just no TK40; you get the picture). I think I've got my AAA basis covered. The only AAA light would be a LiteFlux, but honestly my Arc DS is my keychain queen, coin cells are out, and cr2s are out.

I've been considering a surefire e2dl. However, its rated at 200 lumens while my e1b is rated at 80 lumens. Great upgrade! But, I've read that SF is not consistent with their output measurements, so I'm not sure the E2dL will be that much more powerful.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps the O-light M21, M20, or EagleTac T20C2 MKII would be good?

Pocketable and pretty damn powerful (especially the M21) and the 18650 battery option is outstanding for power to size/weight ratio.

Personel preference of course, but I also think the M20-21 and T20 bodies just look friggin cool. Perfect flashlight proportions with a sweet "Tacticool" look without excess styling or controls.

Quark 123 series or Surefire LX2

I have the 123 regular R5 and its perfect to carry in any pocket daily. Great for a floody light. Good low levels for navigating a dark house in the middle of the night. Great max setting for lighting up a significant area outdoors.

I also have the LX2. Low mode is okay for indoor use, would be better with a diffuser. both low and high are amazing for outdoor use. incredibel throw. The TIR optic is an incredible thing.

Both lights are bright, especially the 123 for its size. I would recommend both. I always have one or the other in my pocket :D

You don't say how much money you've got and you don't say what kinds of things you're wowed by, so it's hard to answer. I'll say that raw output gets boring pretty quickly. My brightest light is a 2000+ lumen USL and after using it a while, well, it's a flashlight, it lights stuff up, it stops wowing you just like the speed of your latest computer upgrade stopped wowing you as soon as you got used to it. But the 40(?) lumen McLux Sundrop and the adjustable (I guess it gets pretty bright, maybe 100-150 lumens, but I'm not so concerned about that) Spy 005 still wow me every time I touch them. They are pure concentrations of flashaholic spirit, like something from another world. I find this a much more satisfying avenue than just chasing lumens.

or if you looking for a tank of a light, get the new ra twisty.
henry had custom service on them, like in the clickys. real 140 lumens otf

ordered one myself on monday.can´t wait for it to arrive

The Eagletac P20C2 MII is nice and bright. It's 300 real OTF lumens in a fairly small frame if this is enough for you personally to wow.

Agreed. I have this EagleTac light and it packs a good punch for small size.

I also have a Quark Tactical 123*2 XP-G R5, which is slightly smaller than the EagleTac, thus the Quark is more EDC friendly. The Quark is not quite as bright (to my naked eye) as the EagleTac, but it's darn close.

These "WOW" threads are a waste of time.....Everybody chips in with their "favorite" "reliable" "140 lumen" "Quality" "good" "good for it's price" "friggin cool" and on and on and on....there are 2 choices only for a WOW EDC....for very small: a Mini 123 with a 3.7 volt battery. 255 lumens OTF. For pocketable: a Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra with 550 lumens, a real hot-spot, and 3.8 inches long. It even puts a Mac Custom to shame with it's 750 lumens of mush, Unless you needn't want to use it for anything more than across the room distances. Yes....I have owned a MAC, a Nailbender DD SST-50, a VX Ultra stock, VX Ultra 750 lumens, Malkoff MCE, M60, RRT-0, and Mini 123. It is no contest.

I don't see how it is a waste of time their are many lights as already suggested in this thread that can WOW, it does not have to be just one or two light's. It gives the OP options to explore other lights.

You might be able to do a battery upgrade and get more of a wow-factor for cheap.

For example, an itp A2 that uses a 1.2Volt rechargable eneloop (or any similar 1xAA light), might be able to use a 4.2 Volt 14500 battery instead which will boost output significantly.

I think my 2.3 inch long, 0.8 inch diameter itp A1 with an RCR123 is very impressive. It cranks out a ton of light for its small size. With a CR123 it is rated at 203 lumens; with the 4.2Volt RCR123 that boosts it even higher so you are probably getting 203 OTF lumens.

Even the DEFT FTP? I was just reading about that last night.

Elektrolumen Triple Cree MC-E Modified (3 18650 batteries) C-Cell Flashlight. Bought mine for $169.00. They are no longer advertised, but I believe you can still special order them. Puts out about 2200 lumen.
