I own all these chargers, and HKJ has reviewed all of them.

NiteCore D2/D4, as well. We call them multi-chemistry chargers, or multi-chem, for short. Some will even do the third li-ion chemistry--LiFePO4.

There is no reason why you can't, but why buy two when one will do. The Nitecore and Xtar chargers mentioned all do a very good job of charging both Li-Ion and NiMH cells in a safe, reliable way. Also, except for some of the smaller USB based chargers, it would be hard to find a good Li-Ion charger that does not also charge NiMH.
