I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I already have the E2D and I love it. I was hoping to get a light comprable in output and size. Anyone have other suggestions. (If A2 is what anyone is suggesting, what stock LED's should I choose?)

I had both E2d and the A2.

Anyway, you cannot go wrong with the A2. Think white LED is fine, unless you have special requirements and want a more permanent colour LED setup.

If you love the E2d, you will find the regulated A2 incan additive.

Over here now, okay. . .Well, as firefly99 indicated regarding 'special requirements' and all, my two choices for the SF.A2 that I have are in green and yellow-green. The white is nice, but there can be slight differences with the white LEDs as to its tint.

Hope you find what you're looking for and Enjoy!

Wow! stepping right up to the A2. I don't think that you'll get any negative feedback on that choice. Do you have an LED color picked out?

Since you have an E2D and love it, why are you looking for a replacement?

The A2 is a great light....I miss mine and will probably buy another. I think it's a flashlight that every CPF'er should own once in their lifetime...go for it :)

To be honest guys, when I think EDC, I'm thinking a light you can take with you everywhere all the time. If you're happy with an A2 in a suit, in shorts and a T-shirt, in your pocket everywhere you go, then go for it.

Personally, I'd recommend an E1L or E1e, or any of the single cell LED's that are out there, just for that extra tiny bit of extra portability. To me, your "EDC" is there to back up your A2/6P/E2e/etc. Even if you don't have a main light with you, you should still have your EDC to get to it, knowwhatImean?

Just my .02.

If you are going to use the light in camping and night hiking, I think A2 is great.

But for EDC, I think the new E1L is good

The "new" E1L? Are the Cree models out yet? Because, frankly, unless you're just after the Surefire name, the new Fenix P2D sure seems to give all other current single cell 123 lights a run for their money.

Here is my thread on the A2, check it out:

The SF A2

For me, the A2 is the perfect EDC as long as I have the pocket real estate for it. In a suit and tie and all that, the A2 is not appropriate, but in jeans or chinos, the A2 fits in my front left pocket nicely. Even better than the E2e, in fact, because the extra length prevents it from falling over horizontal. Anyway, check out that thread for more of my thoughts on the A2.

Well, it was my understanding that a person can never have too many flashlights. Please correct me if I am wrong? (Am I really asking this question to a bunch of Flashaholics?):lolsign:

Another vote for the A2. I was not an A2 devotee until I HAD to use it during an extended power failure one night. That was what "turned on the light" for me...so to speak. Plenty of lower output run time from the LEDs and more than adequate punch from the incan all in a fairly small package. Even if it is not your constand EDC, you will find it extremely useful more than you might think.

Thanks for the responses! I think I've made up my mind about getting one. Has anyone used tacticalsupply.com? I heard they have an excellent discount.
