============Flashlight Recommendation Checklist================

1) How would you prefer to purchase the light?

9) Flood vs Throw: Flood covers an area, Throw reaches out to a distance.

____All Flood: I am doing "arms length" tasks like reading and campsite cooking.
____Wide Flood: I want a defined flood area for semi-close tasks like after-dark campsite tasks or working on a car.
___x_Narrow Flood: I want a sharply defined flood area that will project some distance for tasks like trail walking.
__x__Wide Throw: I want a beam with a noticeable hot-center for distance throw and a significant amount of "side-spill". Good for rough trail hiking, search and rescue, and general distance work.

techie so needs something relatively simple to operate and recharge. Have looked at the Klarus G 15 so if anyone has experience with that model, it would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I have looked around and asked a lot of questions, also saw lots of videos. I finally settled on the Fenix PD36R. It has a good throw and a respectable spill for fast acquisition up close. This is a good video for info:

i carry kr4, imo, i would fit your daughters requirements, but not meet all of marked options on your list. it has no cradle, or charger. you need to unscrew the cap, and replace a cell

as far as keeping things in cars, anything with lithium batteries i'd keep in bottom door pockets, it is the coolest part of the car, and it is open, so there is airflow, unlike glove box, trunk, or even under the seat.

thou a cradle installed in the door pocket, wired to the car's power, so flashlight always be charged and ready is an appealing option.
