I am building a light that I plan on driving two Q5's from their own amc7135 700mA regulator.

Would it be a better deal to get 10pc 1400mA boards for $18, or 20pc 700mA boards for $22?

The plan was to desolder two of the chips simply for 700mA, but if they have them already like that for a similar price (but twice as many), I can't make up my mind.

For my purpose it makes sense to get the 700mA ones, but what if I decide to kick it up to 1050mA, is it too hard to solder a chip back onto a board.

Blah, what would you do?

Well, this doesn't easily scale to 1050 mA, but my actual notion would be to take a single 1400mA driver and cut the trace that crosses under D1, converting it to 2 700mA drivers on one board.

If you want the ability to go 1050 mA (without piggybacking AMC7135s), maybe just buy 1050mA boards? That way, any AMC7135s you remove to make 700mA boards can go on another to make 1400mA boards, instead of having to throw away either boards or chips....

I don't think it should be a problem soldering them back on, but then I know nothing of your soldering tools and skills -- they both want to be at least moderately sharp for this.

I've been getting better :D

I'm sure I'll figure something out with what I got.... they're simple enough.

Heh, basically I'm paying $4 for 10 more boards.... otherwise all the same thing pretty much.

and that's everything :)
