Hi guys,

I'm looking for a few (about 10) diffuse SMD white leds, to form into an LED backlight for an old LCD tv i have which uses a small fluorescent tube.
Anyone know where i can find em for a reasonable price??

Craig Johnson at the LED Museum did have a load of ceramic bodied Nichia SMT whites for sale a while back, this might have been before the Big Quake so you might check to see if any are still there. They were about $2.50 each I think. Nice pure white, not unpleasently purple or green tinted- I`ve got 3 mounted as a backlite to my Flukebench meter, probably the last "LED Mod" I ever did!

Very very small though. You either need a SMT soldering iron or silver conductive paint and a very thin brush.

While looking for an installation CD last night, I did come across an envelope that had 10 of them in it, still in their little ESD reel segment. If I can find them again, I'll let you have them for $2 apiece postpaid.
