I'm going to replace the stock circuit on my Surefire L6 with a DB1000. But I'm not sure on how to connect the converter to the emitter, ground to the converter etc etc. I thought I had it figured out but I was wrong... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I need some help with this. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

TIA

Yes I know but I'm still not sure on how to connect the leads from the springs to converter board and where to solder the ground to.

This pic shows my board. http://home.comcast.net/~theledguy/cpf_store/converters/e640_downboy_ba.jpg

If I solder the anode and cathode to the emitter shall I then solder the GND to the negative spring and the vin+ to the positive spring?

Mr HG,

I think you have it right. The Center spring is soldered to the V+in and the perimiter ground spring gets soldered to the gnd.

I don't understand why you want to replace the stock circuit. A downboy is a buck converter. The stock circuit is a buck converter. Why go through the trouble? The stock converter is also probably more efficient than the DB1000 as well though that's speculation based on the DB using a boost converter in a novel buck configuration that cost you efficiency. Seems like a step backwards unless I'm totally missing something (which btw is not only possible but likely /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif )
