Need help w/ SFX200 lego mod

Hey guys,

Some of you modders and homemades may be able to help me out.

I got a X200 and got the bezel off. I want to use my KX2C or my KL4 bezel but the battery contacts at the back of the heads are incompatible with the X200.

As you can see, the X200 has two battery contacts side by side. I am not adept enough to solder and desolder those things. I want something that I can screw on and make this work.

I think I will need to make an E-Series head adapter. a collar similar to a LU60A with two different threading on either side. one side to screw onto the X200 body and the other side so that E-series heads can screw on. The next thing is to figure out how to get the batteries to properly make contact with the E-Series heads and adapter. that is the part I am unsure about. I imagine I will need to make something that looks like the back of the X200 head but with a spring on the other side to contact the middle of the E-series head.

any help would be much appreciated.

Hey Nick,

I can make the adaptor and make the contacts work for your X200 to be compatible with E-series heads. I'd need you to send me an e-series body and incandecent head that I can cut the head-threads off the body and weld to the E-series bezels threads to make the adaptor.
It is not easy at all to make the contacts work. It is very time consuming to get it right. It's not a cheap mod, but well worth it when its done.

I think I can get an adapter made. Im looking at either a cheap beat up e-series body or a scoutlight KO from hong kong.

If the KO scoutlight is compatible with normal e-series heads, then I can get a machinist to cut it down and thread it to fit the X200.

The only hard part is making what your E-series X200 has, the spring contact. Can you remove the adapter below and take a pic of the back side?
