need help with batt/charger for RC-N3

I bought this light a while back on the recommendation of this forum and absolutely love it. I have it mounted on my helmet (firefighter) and it hands down stomps any of the purpose built helmet lights. I have been using it with a single cr123 as well as dual AA cells and would like to avoid the cost of both and get the better performance of the 123 cell...But, after reading this forum in depth I feel more frightened than knowledgeable to be honest. I would like to know what combo of batts and charger I can get for fairly little money that wont result in my head getting blown up . I cant afford the best I know, but I need safe. I havent had any issues so far using 123 or AA's in a fire, or at least they have worked afterwards....
