I have a 2D mag that I'm looking to mod. I currently have a 6AA to 2D adapter running 6 14500's, borofloat lens, and TLE-300, but the power is too much for the TLE-300 using the 14500's. I can run it using regular alkalines but I'd really like to see the 14500's put to use since they cost a pretty penny. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I'd really like to stay in the LED zone for mods just for run time but icans would be ok too. TIA.

You can use NiMh batteries for the TLE-300 in the 6AA adaptor.

6 14500s, 25.2v fully charged(presuming the battery pack is wired in series), I'm surprised the TLE-300 didn't fry.

Are you looking to use the 14500 batteries or a different mod for the Maglite?

Using the 6 14500's with the TLE-300, it came on for a few seconds and went dim. I'm guessing that was the protection feature on it. I'm just gonna stick with regular alkalines for that lens. I might get another 2D and mod it to be brighter than the one I have. I'm just looking to see what my options are. I'd like to use the 14500's if I can. I know I can run them with an incan bulb but what would be the best one out there? I haven't seen any that run on 24v.

The ones that do run at 24v will draw too much voltage. I you can find on that is around 30w and under, they should work.
