Re: Introducing NEOCA CR2 Black Lipstick

your throw comes more from weather you use an optic or reflector, for throw you probably want the Fraen LP optic, and i would reccomend the NG500 as it is more efficient than the BB500 and produces less heat with the same output results as far as light.

Re: Introducing NEOCA CR2 Black Lipstick

Pablo, is there a quantity of 50 minimum before you go ahead with production?

Re: Introducing NEOCA CR2 Black Lipstick

Hallis: No this one is already a go.

as soon as I finish the inner guts and post some beamshots, temperature tests and other miscelaneous data, I'll post in the B/S/T to start taking orders

Since this is my 1st batch ever on CPF I'll require a small amount until the light is ready to ship.

At least I want to show a finished unit before posting in BST

Thanks

Pablo

Re: Introducing NEOCA CR2 Black Lipstick

Looking forward to the finished unit PEU. Do plan on posting beamshots of both the reflector vs. optic?

Thanks.

Re: Introducing NEOCA CR2 Black Lipstick

Another update

I just finished turning the dissipator, here is the family shot:

neocabl15.jpg

as you can see I'm still adjusting the spacing between holes in the dissipator /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The handicapped reflector (please no offense intended) replaces perfectly the nx05

Comments: every minute I'm more convinced of using a reflector instead of a nx05.

Why:

- I like the beamshot more (Beamshot comparission by Darkzero)
- When I started building the NEOCA BL, I never had the chance to see a reflector, 1st ones I touched came with the order from the shoppe
- I can easily adapt the dissipator to accept an UNTOUCHED reflector so building process is much faster and more important (to me) far more easy.

SO, please I need feedback on what you prefer since I posted originally that the unit will use an optic and now I changed my mind /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I cannot give the option of optic or reflector because the dissipator needs to be turned in a different way (reflector=no aluminium walls on the side of the led)

One thing to keep in mind is that the lens can still be placed without the support of the heatsink, the only difference is that it will be slightly less supported. Look at the following pic for a better understanding

neocabl16.jpg

compare with the cut view in first post (disregard the overlapping I made a quick drawing /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

Thanks

Re: Introducing NEOCA CR2 Black Lipstick

keep leaning towards the reflector /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif

Re: Introducing NEOCA CR2 Black Lipstick

Well, if you can make EITHER fit without modification then we ALL win. Add to that a Fraen and we are winners all around and that should satisfy everyones choice.

Probably reflector for me. or maybe a fraen... but I never liked the square beam...so reflector

Thanks.

Re: Introducing NEOCA CR2 Black Lipstick

Im more of a long throw spot guy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I want to see how a fraen fits, But if Fraen isnt available id be happy with NX05
