Any chance you can mod an older Surefire 4 flats L1 with an updated emitter and reflector? Still have the (original) HDS XP-G upgrade to do as well, I should have the emitter for that one this week.

The electronics are in the body, only removing the optic and replacing it with a new emitter and fitting a reflector properly. But if you are not comfortable, I can look elsewhere. Still hoping to have you mod the HDS, interested in that?

I can take a look a look at the Surefire, but if it looks like I won't be able to mod it, I can just put it back together and send it back.

I received my 120 EDC today. Great work my friend! :twothumbs I'm very glad you nudged me into the 5B rather than the 7B. This light totally justifies my selling of my Clicky high CRI and then some!!! Again great work!

P.S. My Nautilus also showed up today so when I can get my "toy" fund back up to speed we'll have to see what kind of magic you can work with that! :naughty:

I'm glad to hear that you like it. The 5B tint is very nice, and it shows by the fact that 3/4 of the Cree mods I've done are to a 5x tint. 😀

Have you ever tried to mod a Muyshondt Aeon? Would this light make a good host?

I've not tried it yet, but I'd be willing to try. It seems like it might be a better candidate for a High-CRI SSC than an XP-G though.

Can you elaborate on your reasons why?

Because the smaller the light, the harder it is to run the wires for the LED, and the greater chance that the wires will short on the reflector. I can't say for sure though until I take one apart.

I received my modded Clicky 140 on Friday and it looks great! The neutral XPG looks much nicer than the SSC.

I hope to get some beamshots up within the next few days.

Finally got around to a beamshot comparison.

Clicky 140 wide before:

Much nicer colors, and floodier. Throw was also improved slightly.
