Hi, I recently picked up a couple of old vintage Rayovac Sportsman flashlights circa 1960. I was wanting to know what bulbs can be used with these using Alkaline batteries. Thanks for any help!

If you are you looking for LED's, the 55 lumen Nite Ize drop-in should work if the original bulbs were the flanged PR type.

Alkalines are not good batteries as they often leak, better to use NiMH's or AA L91 energizer ultimate lithiums in adapters.

Thanks for help! They have everything I need at my local hardware store. Going with the led lights. Never dreamed they made an led conversion for these old lights. I have several "modern" lights, but these are the type I used 40 plus years ago. Thanks again.

I like old Tung Sol bulbs from eBay when you can Find PR 2or 4 (2 cell lights) or PR3 for 3 cell.
They were durable and had a nice beam.

Now if you mean the big search and rescue type that used 6 batteries a KPR118 is a good replacement bulb.

Figure 1.2 volts per battery, then search "xx volt flashlight bulb" in your favorite search engine.

The NiteIze mentioned above works well in older lights.
