Declawing is essentially an amputation of the bone of the first knuckle, similar to chopping off half the first bone from your fingertips...Don't cheap out on the litter! We use Arm & Hammer, and it does pretty well. Don't fall for that "extra light" nonsense, either. The heavy stuff is heavy because it has clay in it, which absorbs moisture and makes scooping easier.
De-clawing is getting to be a hot topic. There's evidence that claws are cats' equivalent of fingernails, and some people will tell you it's inhumane. I'm not here to offer my opinion either way on the topic, but it may be something you want to consider.
On the other hand, not every cat is going to sit there and let you clip it's claws.
If you can get a scratching post, and your new companion is willing to use it, that's an alternative.
You can feed him half in the morning (or whenever he gets up) and the other half in the evening.Bag says to feed him 3/4 cup a day I feed him 1 cup but he eats it all should I give him more ?

BTW I'm worrying about old owner she was crying I have been sending her updates and telling her he is loved
I didn't want to ask her to much but it was due to housing I think she had to move back with her folks id guess she is 40Why did she have to give you the cat in the first place?
Having to give up a pet you love is never easy and to put that on top of whatever reason she had to give it up is insult to injury.
Is that a Jack Russell/Rat terrier mix? Nice dog.Ours follows the dog and I everywhere we go. The dog goes for a walk, the cat comes along..
