Please encourage Lummi to put the new CR2 version of the raw on the front burner. I can't be the only one waiting for this new light!!!

I am waiting for that new CR2 Raw as well. I am impressed with that "neutral" LED Rob is using. :twothumbsMy understanding is that the folks at Lummi are busy with other projects currently, so that CR2 Raw may not be seen for a while.

I want one in sterling silver if possible, and aluminum if not. I check the Lummi site frequently to see if they are available yet.

Would just like to say that I'm just one of many others who'd want a Primary CR2 powered Raw!

My reason for wanting the original RAW is for it's smooth design and style, not necessarily the cell used. But the size, also, is very good. I think it's a better looking light than the RAW NS and its offshoots which I happen to love just the same.

Want to explain why I'd prefer primaries as opposed to rechargeables in the Raw:

I carry a decent looking shoulder-carry case with me wherever I go, even to a formal function, so I am able to comfortably EDC slightly larger lights of 2x123 or 3x123 size. People like me don't need very small lights like the Raw for frequent use.

However, I would like a small back-up and I think the size of the Raw is just perfect. However, rechargeables self-discharge and degrade over time, especially if stored at full charge, so I would prefer a primary-powered option with long-shelf life.

The size and appearance of the Raw also makes it a very nice gift light but again, most people may not use it often and may only bring it out in an emergency so rechargeables are again not suitable, not to mention the dangers of li-ion unknown to most casual users and their lack of common availability. Primaries with their long shelf-live and low self-discharge would make the Raw the perfect gift light for the average user.

When the CR2 Raw comes out, I'll be getting at least one as back-up and another for my significant other.

Don't give up hope or showing interest in another run of aluminum RAWs. Rob's statement "A CR2 Lummi light is on hold at the moment." does not mean "cancelled". But it's not very encouraging either.

I would be happy with a new CR123 based light that looked just like the CR2 RAW, just scaled up. (Rob, hint!)

:thanks: for the encouragement Guys :twothumbs
I am tempted to produce a small run of CR2 primary based Raw style lights.
Nothing definite atm, but I do have some ideas & most of all your interest

If they are like the old ones only updated led's and drivers I will take two.

I will take one if like the old ones. If possible I would prefer with a smooth tail as per the early originals. Thanks Rob for keeping this alive.

By the way, my RAW Al just arrived. Sorry, not much "wow" factor here as I have already experienced that with my previous RAWs. (Edit: WOW! It's dark out now, the cell is charged and it's bright, it's white and I love it! The neutral white tint is a nice contrast to my older RAWs. I will have to play with them a while to see which I prefer but I am very happy with the neutral white LED.) The more RAWs the merrier as these are probably my favorite lights. To date I now have RAW NS, Ti, Da, and now the Al. Any chance of a RAW Mo (monel) or RAW Cu? What other metal would make a great RAW? Either in the NS style or original RAW CR2 style would do.
