Think this claim needs some qualifiers:
  • Turbo - 5000 Lumens/1.6 hours/1312 ft
  • High - 2000 Lumens/2 hours/820 ft
2.5x the Turbo output vs High with a mere 20% reduction in runtime strongly implies a quick throttle down from 5k lumens to at most high's 2k lumens.

Sure does.
I'll be watching for a clearance sale on the v1 model. Some pretty solid run time numbers in the mid-range light levels. 2hrs @ 1k/L at one time is more than I've ever needed in the last 10yrs

3xSST40 emitters? Yes I will buy this truly modern looking multi emitter light. AFTER I buy the new TK22UE. Would like to see better pics of this new lights "strike bezel". Are there tungsten hard points like on the TK22UE bezel?

It looks nice, I like that in an emergency it can work with only one 18650 battery

We sent this to the Fenix engineer for his comments. It may be several days since they are on national holiday. Thanks for being a part of our community!

We heard back from our Fenix contact. Here is his response:

"I let the engineer look through the comments and he thinks that it's common that people would focus on the numbers, but usually they don't realize the balance and control between the high output and the heat generated. So you may reply according to the following points:

1. The TK35UE V2.0 has a built-in heat control chip, so the brightness will be controlled to step down when the temperature reaches up to a certain level. There is a note under every specs chart, and all data are tested under laboratory circumstances. However, if it's under certain conditions, like low temperature or good heat dissipation environment, the Turbo mode will perform better.

2. The new version can reach higher output and at the same time the runtime doesn't reduce at the same brightness level comparing to the 2018 version. What's more, the new version is smaller and lighter."
