Does surefire have any new products being planned in the incan segment?

Something better/brighter than the M6?

But not the beast, and NOT in the beast price range.

Something like an M9, with 9 123 batteries, 9 volts but three times the amps? Or the M12 with 12 volts, 3 times the amps, and 750 lumens for an hour, and the HOLA is 1500 lumens for 20 min?

Or how about this....

(i was thinking about this last night)

Take a surefire M6, and put a 10 watt HID bulb in it. Or make a custom body, which will take 3 parallel rows of either 3 or 4 batteries... for a total of 9 or 12 123a batteries. That would be awesome. Kinda like the miniHID, using a cut m*g, but with MORE runtime.

My personal goal, is something NO larger than a 2D m*g, OR, a lengthened M6 body, (cause I think the m6 body looks awesome) with a 3"-4" turbo head, and OVER 600 lumens for OVER 4 hours.

The above light would be the most awesome light I have ever seen.

Have a good one.

SS, something like this perhaps?

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif There is a better photo of the PK with the prototype M6 but I can't seem to find it at the moment. IIRC this project was abandoned or back-burnered a while back. Photo credit goes to SF, with the origional found in the SF photo section and hosted by me for CPF.

When we see an X200B I hope it has a nice increase in brightness over the X200.

THIS is what I have been waiting for quite a while ... M6-HID ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
I hope they'll hit the afterburners on this project!

Have Surefire announced ANY new NON-WEAPON lights for 2005?

I'd like to see more luxeon III and Lux V lights....

HOLY CRAP...

That is EXACTLY what i wanted.

If that is a 10 watt bulb... that would OWN the M6 HOLA, and have excellent runtime.

But I still want more batteries powering it, longer runtime, and a larger bezel/reflector to throw a tighter beam.

Kiessling....

how can we get to work on it? i'm game.

I have no access to anything electronic or mechanical... but i make up for that in desire... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

With the SureFire/Lumileds proto-types shown at the CPF Party I think PK has been focusing resources on the next generations of LED type illumination tools rather than incandescents.
If SureFire are working on "mini" HID projects then it is highly unlikely there will be photos of them. Those "M6-HID" are years old.

Always good for some bad news, Al ! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif

Will someone please rename this thread to add a "?" at the end?
You all went and got me all excited for nothing....

GJW,
That is a good idea. Just don't have another good idea like that again okay? Changing the thread titles was more time consuming then I realised!

I'm pretty sure a 10 W HID would not "own" the 30 watt M6 HOLA. HID's are more efficient, but not THAT much more efficient. More like twice as efficient, not three times.

I agree with js. The 10W HID in the LC100 cannot nearly rival the M6 HOLA. Low wattage HIDs are not as efficient as higher wattage ones. However, the 10W HID would probably have better runtime than the Incan HOLA, but I don't think it's worth the trouble. A HID bulb would also require a balast and electronics which would make the tough M6 more fragile.
