I hated the bluish tint of D10 GDP so my light hasn't seen use until today.

I ordered neutral white GDP from here last week : http://www.led1.de
and they arrived today.

Emitter swap was easy, no qlue was used in production.

Vf of the neutral was little higher than original, but beam and tint are so nice.
No tint shift and no blue.
I would say that tint is between Crees 5A and 3A.
I'll try to take few pics tomorrow.

Happy modder:)

Wow!

Got a local source for these emitters? North america perhaps?

Gonna have to get one of these leds...

Re: New life to D10 GDP

No, it is Golden Dragon® Plus LCW W5AM KXKZ 4L8N

I haven't seen these elsewhere.
This is my Local, thay have free EU-shipping:twothumbs

I also tried emitter with Petzl Tikka XP optic- no luck-too narrow
beam with Cree Xre 8 degree optic was also ugly.
DX- wide beam Cree optic did work.
Without any optic or reflector beam is bluish in center so it can not be used without

A few pic, not good but shows differences
Drive currents are different, Cree 3A and 5A are in P60 modules.

Here Neutral GDP-5A-3A

Too bad that my camera sees them different that I do.
In real life I see no pink/purple in GDP:shrug:

I really like the 5A but this emitter looks very nice too!

How hard a time did you have getting the D10 apart?

I used GDP since I wanted to try how it compares to Crees
Heatsink in GDP version is different than Cree version and
I did not want to modify this nice anodized heatsink and drill reflector.

There are opening instructions like here:
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=220863

I did not remove driver because you can turn the pill out without removing driver.

GDP heatsink is designed for emitter only and there was lot of thermal grease,
it even looked like from the holes where wires come that the driver space was full of it.

I like the tint, even more than 5A.
3A is getting too cool for my liking.

Don't know yet which other light I try to modify to GDP, I still have 3 neutrals left.
I also bought one 295lumens at 1A emitter but that was greenish like WG:duh2:
