Now that I have the M6, can't believe I went this long without it since it proved its worth tonight. My daughter and I were riding our bikes just two blocks away testing M6 500lu in a dark school yard field area, lit up the whole area! Anyway, on way home, this guy is backing out his car not seeing my daughter, who was too far for me to grab her out of harms way, so I immediately did a football stadium type whistle which is loud, no affect, windows were up probably blasting his stero, keeps backing up. A nano second later I pointed the M6 directly at the drivers window with 500 lumens. He immediately stopped with only few feet to spare. My new M6 got his undivided attention. I must of literally stunned him but really had no other choice given the circumstances. We went on our way unharmed. Thanks Surefire! (also posted at surefire)

That's a great story with a happy ending. Glad things worked out the way they did! You should enter that story it in the surefire story contest (or whatever it's called) at surefire.com.

Great story. You should submit it to Surefire...I think that they will geve you an E2 if they use it.

Thanks guys for the encouragement on liking the story. I may submit story, will consider.
I just wanted to share how my new M6 saved the day since I was so impressed how it instantly stopped this guy. The piercing beam intensity really shook him up I think.

The M6 is not only an incredible illumination tool but has acted as a safety device not just for me and my daughter but I am sure for many others whom also depend upon it. Carrying the M6 around at night gives one a sense of extra security. I am extremely pleased with the performance of the M6 like many others.

George,

Just out of curiosity, were you using the 250Lumen lamp, or the 500L? Any comments about run time vs brightness?

Brightnorm:
I was using the 500 Lumen lamp in a dark field. Then was returning home when I had to stun the guy with my M6. Had it less than a week but white brillance light has not faded yet. Most comments I have read over last year seem to indicate it will go 20+ minutes maintaining brightness until near the end of battery life. Al and other veteran M6 owners may be able to share historical experience with brightness/runtime. It's been stated it does much better than than the M4 with maintaining the 500 Lumens. 500L lamp seems to be more of a flood and 250 L lamp a spot. M6 lights up objects like a tree I would say at more than 200 feet away. This is a rugged light also. Its a great feeling knowing I now own the best / brightest flashlight in the world for its size / class.
