NEW! Maxpedition \'DevilDog\' versipack!!

Oh boy, just when my wallet thought it was safe to come out of hiding again. Maxpedition has to comeout with something like this:

Has anyone seen it in person? Own one? I'd like to see a picture of next to something else so I can judge the size of it. Looks pretty big. Bigger than the Fatboy, but not quite a backpack. The only thing I don't like is the "drain grommet" in the bottom. Whats that for? I'd be concerned that water/moisture would get IN thru the grommet. I wonder if there is way to plug it up adequetly.

Looks like a lot of the torso pac i have sold.

Never the less it looks awesome! Contect some mil-shoulder straps Y or H to distribute weight and you have yourself a nice day pac.

Re: NEW! Maxpedition \'DevilDog\' versipack!!

I spoke to Tim at Maxpedition about the bag last week, and he says it's roughly 1/2 the capacity of a Falcon, so about 750 cubic inches.

They'll have them on display at the SHOT show, and will start shipping them for sale in early March.

Looking forward to checking one out... It looks like a nice compromise between a small pack like a Falcon and the very small capacity of a Versipack. It'll be interesting to see how it rides with some weight in it, like two water bottles and some gear.

On second thought, it actually cost more than the Baby Condor (MSRP 79.99 USD) and has less than half the capacity. Hmmmm, Maybe the Proteus would make a better buttpack....

However, I can hook my M2 to my H1 and have 88 c.i. of space not including the sheath on the H1. And then there is the badazz Thermite versipack, which can be found on the net for 34 smackers, which is a good deal... Hmmmm, guess I need to think some more.

Looks almost identical to my REI Mother Lode, which was only $25 and is really well built.
