Another announcement is #8002, the Manta Versipack. This looks akin to a Fatboy or Jumbo but without the storage areas; while it does have two apparently flat pockets, it's mostly for mounting other Maxpedition/MOLLE pouches/holsters/etc.

And now we have the "#8001 JANUS™ Extension Pocket"

This is interesting--it's basically a pocket on an extension strap for Maxpedition shoulder/waist straps (with "Fastex" style buckles--looks like 2"?).

Maxpedition hasn't gotten me excited in a long time -- the military look, along with occasional lack of attention to what I feel are key attributes (e.g., packs like the fatboy, when properly designed, should stay put in the small of the back rather than always wants to move around), has left me uninterested. But the Merlin has definitely caught my attention, I may need to do a little thinking about how I'd use it, but gut feel is that the ability to always take along an extra backpack in a small folding form will probably come in useful.

Merlin can fold up but in doing so you lose the tough fabric. You get a thinner, weaker fabric and you lose the attachment points and padded shoulder straps.

Right, important to set your expectations correctly. A pack that wads up into a little rectangle is definitely not a pack made of military-grade nylon with all the bells and whistles. The attraction is small folded size, and while it won't be a military-grade pack, it will be a whole lot tougher than the cheap nylon folding backpacks you can find out there today.

And this morning we have:

#0223 TACTILE™ Pocket - Small
#0224 TACTILE™ Pocket - Medium
#0225 TACTILE™ Pocket - Large

Basically single pockets with MOLLE webbing on both sides and D-rings if you want to attach a shoulder strap. Seems like they are mostly intended as flat, generally low-profile add-ons to existing MOLLE bases.

Oh man, I didn't need to see this....my wallet just imploded. As if I need anymore tactical nylon gear....I see a Remora, Janus and small Tactile pocket in my future. *sigh* The wife is going to kill me....

We need to see some interior shots though.

And today we have:

#9814 E-10 Envelope Case
#9815 E-14 Envelope Case

These are basically lined knife cases with flaps like an envelope.

Seems like after last year with a bunch of new, bigger products they're focusing this summer on smaller items.

Huh... #9813 seems to have dropped off the list of things to come (items still listed as coming-but-not-announced-yet are #0107, #0108, #0109, #0110, #0226, #0424).

Over on the edcforums.com site user "maxpedition" wrote:

#9813 is an envelope case with internal dims 6" x 2", black only. We're running this particular style exclusively for handmade knife retailer KnifeArt.com and only sold through them. As such, I left it off to press release to avoid confusion.

Okay, two more phone holsters:

#0107 3.5" CLIP ON Phone Holster
#0110 5" CLIP ON Phone Holster

16 items announced so far, three more yet to be unveiled. The "maxpedition" user (Tim Tang?) over on edcforums.com posted this yesterday:

#0424, #0226, #3503 will be shown before end of week.
New Summer Releases products will be shipping from mid-June through July.
