This is covered in other threads but whoever wrote the article can't count. A 15 cm wafer will produce about 17,000 dies not 150,000.

Lmao, don't be silly that would involve a bit of a common sense approach to things, those days have long gone! 🙄

The amount of dies cut from the waffer will of course depend on how big/small you cut each die. The 15cm waffer have a surface of 17,7k mm2. If they claim 150,000 dies and one say there is roughly 20% loss when cutting it, that translates to 0,1 mm2 for each die. Problably not far from the reality of 5 mm LEDs.
