I think you're right. That's all I got out of all the specs I found. The only uncertainty I have is concerning the exact emitters used.
I will agree with you on that, although we can assume, with a great certainty, that Seouls and Osram Golden Dragons will be used, as before.

Hi, folks. 🙂

What is the difference btw Ra executive and Ra EDC executive, besides 140/120 lumens and 23/22 brightness levels ?

There must be something for $50 difference. 😕

Octaf,

Hope all is well brother

You need to compare the features side by side on the Ralights website.
There is more than just a lumens difference.

The Ra Clicky Executive Has the following features:
Ra Every Day Carrydoes NOT

* At least that's what you see when you compare the specs of the 2 lights side by side *

  • Protects rechargeable batteries from over-discharge.
  • Full thermal management.
  • Potted electronics for the ultimate in reliability under extreme conditions.
  • Anti-damage battery compartment protects battery under extreme conditions.
  • Reverse battery protection without diode power penalty.

I thought those differences were said by Henry to not be the case? All the Clickys have those features.

Once again, this information is false.

Henry has stated that the EDC models have all of those features.

The only difference between the Executive and EDC Executive is the efficiency of the LED and maximum output level.

There is an additional difference between the Tactical and EDC tactical, that would be the type of black coating used on the bezel. The tactical uses a more durable and expensive black coating.

If you don't feel $50 is worth the extra brightness level and probable longer runtime, then buy the EDC, that's what they're for.

LLCoolBeans,
Do you have any personal or professional relationship to Henry/HDS Systems or Ra Lights?

Aren't ALL of the NEW Clickys the same as the ORIGINAL Clickys, EXCEPT for the raised button, the downgraded burst/high level pairings and the two black bezel finishes? I have been under the impression that these variations are the ONLY ones. I have read the general specs. the detailed specs., and User's Guides many times, and see no other differences.

I welcome anybody to challenge my level of certainty!!

Jeff
I can't believe you forgot the black clip! ...and technically the initial programming.

No, sir. I have met him in person on several occasions, we have exchanged thoughts and ideas that pertain to his business, but there is no professional relationship.

I like his products and admire his vision. His success means I will be able to continue to purchase his products in the future. That is my only motivation. That and he lives and operates his business in my home town and I like to root for the home team especially when it comes to small business.

Thanks.
I've been wondering about that because you are surely his staunchest defender but I have never seen mention of it. He should consider putting you on the payroll for all your hard work and attentiveness here! 😀

I like to think of myself as a supporter, rather than a defender. Henry is a big boy and can fight his own battles. He doesn't need anyone to defend him.

I may be a Ra fan, but I am no cheerleader. If HDS does something I disagree with, I'll speak up.

Supporter/defender, it's all a matter of context/perspective.

I've read very few posts made by Henry since joining this forum. I have often wondered about this because I gather at one time he was quite active. That's the very reason I asked if you had any ties to Henry because you seem to always answer his questions and clarify anything having to do with his lights. He's fortunate to have such a devoted customer.

Holy macanoli, you are right on both counts. A thousand lashes on my bare hindquarters for these exclusions. :whoopin: I apologize to all of those who detest a polished pocket clip that can be used as a personal mirror, as is the case with both Executive models. The Tactical models will both have a black coating, for all of you covert missions fiends.

As for the factory default brightness presets.....
Clicky Executive = 140, 35, 12, 0.3
Clicky Tactical = 140lm Tactical Strobe, 140, 12, 0.3
Every Day Carry Executive =
120, 42, 15, 0.03
Every Day Carry Tactical = 120lm Tactical Strobe, 120, 15, 0.3

Armed Forces, I'd have to say LuxLover is a bigger supporter of Henry than almost anyone if you want to concern yourself about that. I also have been. I always considered LLCB to just be another enthusiastic fan of the best quality lights around. 😀

I talked to Henry today on the phone. I was quite tired when I called but I'll try to relay the few things I can recall. I called to ask about the Ra 140-Cn I sent back in as I hadn't gotten any email reply for 3 or 4 days so I was just checking to see if there was an ETA for return on it. It sounded like they were going to hopefully get to it and some others around the end of the week.

I also asked about how the new lights were coming along and when they might be shipping. He said if they were lucky they would start shipping tomorrow to dealers but if not it would probably be later this week. Don't quote me on that but I believe this is close to what was said. It sounds like they are very busy so I didn't want to keep him on the phone and just got the essentials.

Thank you for the plug, matrix. But you may have noticed that I have slowed down my Ra Ra Ra Sis Boom Ba cheering lately, because I am waiting for Henry to make some formal statements that will enhance our confidence in his current run of Clickys and upcoming run of Clickys. He has not posted since 1/22, and a lot has transpired since then. I am awaiting the current status of the old problems in the new lights.

Regardless of how many "Henry" lights I own, I always consider his new offerings. This may be the first time since I know Henry that I am taking a "wait and see" posture before buying. But I will confess that I do daydream about life with an EDC Tactical. I await reports of the feel of the raised button compared to the flush button. My 140C Clicky is a charm, and I would expect no less from Henry with his new lights.

Regarding your conversation with Henry today, may the force be with us and may he build, test and ship his lights expeditiously. There are a lot of people "out there" who are going to be shivering in their boots when they see what $99 and $109 can buy in an EDC light. Now very few people can complain about a light costing too much. :twothumbs

My curiosity does not lie in who is or who is not a supporter of a particular light/brand, or with whom is the bigger fan. What I've been wondering about is whether there are any financial or personal ties to members that post here on a regular basis and do not disclose this information. I would hope that wouldn't be a problem but there's always a chance to exploit this opportunity. The simplest thing to do is ask and that's what I did. Despite all my merciless ribbing of the Clicky, I'll be picking up one of these lights because I really like to support people like Henry.

I, Luxlover, do solemnly swear that I have neither a financial nor a personal tie to Henry or his business operation. 😎
