New Rayovac LED industrial lights at Home Depot

I spotted 3 new rayovac LED offerings today.
1)3C LED 140 lumens 2 modes
2)2AA LED 100 lumens 2 modes
3)3AAA LED 100 lumen headlamp 2 modes
The headlamp was about $13 with the 2AA at $15 and I think the 3C was $25.
The two flashlights were aluminume with rubber covered heads and tail ends. I couldn't tell if they were using an XP-C or some other tiny 5mm size surface mount LED in them or not.

I bought the AA and C flashlights a few weekends ago and they are great! They are both heavy, tough as nails, 2 mode, and priced right!

I am thinking the 2AA would give a 2AA magLED a run for the money priced $5 less with a tail switch.

I bought the 2aa rayovac for my mom right before Irene came to town, definitely better then my 2aa mag led. The beam is nicer also.

I bought the 3c light with batteries, for 18.00 at a local hardware store. The light is heavy and hard to hold with the way the handle is built. Makes a nice stable light to point at the ceiling and fill the room with light, during a power outage, or areas where you may have poor lighting.

14500 in the AA?????

umm..... probably not. 2AA lights "may" possibly be able to use 1 14500 (small chance) with a dummy AA but 2 14500s would fry things.

AA lights must be rated for 14500 cells. Otherwise....<<POOF!>> The 14500 cells are great with lights rated for them.

Typically when a light doesn't advertise the brand of a 5mm LED then it could be made by anyone. I have seen similar LEDs in other cheap "3W" lights. It appears to be a 110 degree beefier 5mm LED, perhaps able to take 60-80ma without frying but don't quote me on that figure.

Looks like a Cree, but I had a some Costco 3AAAs with a XP-E, and they were junk! The Rayos have the same 4 point centering mount for the XP-G that my Quark AA has, so...............

I don't have a truck, but I DO have a geo metro. Not the same test, though.

I have a friend that bought the light from Home Depot, it is very bright. He uses it when we throw duck decoys out in the pitch black of the early morning. Very good light for the price I would say.

Just did this! The Ranger won. The Problem with the 3 aaa Rayovac xpc is that the light constantly falls off the band when transporting it via dangle method. I lost two of these 12 dollar lights the very first day of use, because of this design. I never found the first, which got lost somewhere between bedside charger and car.

If I buy a third, I will immediately take it down to basement and hot glue vecro the head to the strap, before carrying it anywhere else.

they had these at the entrance to Home Depot and I couldn't resist when I saw the power ratings: 100/15hr, 18/35hr and on AA batteries to boot!

Pretty smooth light. About 15% larger than a Maglight 2AA then with the rubber overmolds it becomes about 25% larger overall in volume.

I bought one of these to give my fiance when we go camping so she doesn't lose one of my Surefires. I gotta say, given the claimed lumen output and run times, this is a winner for $15.

This would be a great first light to get someone into flashlights. I recommended a G2X Pro to a friend of mine and he balked at the price tag ($65) but I showed him this and he was much more interested. Good light for the money IMO.

I took some beamshots with my Sony Cybershot, so forgive the poor photos. This is the closest in my opinion to what my eyes see.
Estimated distance of 10 feet/3 meters.
