Sorry, but that magnetic tailcap ruins it for me.
Honestly, there's a competitor out there who sells certain models of their lights with non-magnetic tailcaps. If an individual customer really wants a magnetic one, they can buy one as an added-cost, optional extra. The company then ships out the light with the extra (magnetic) tailcap as well. Thereby making more money.

Personally, no clue why other companies don't adopt the same practice.

True. But with any business, the option that lets them make a bit of extra profit will usually be the one that gets adopted.
