Waterproof? YES! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif

I read the light doesn't pull a lot of current. Is there a way to see a picture of the nose of the light to see the emitter?

Hey Craig,
The chant is starting up, "Battery discharge analysis, battery discharge analysis,...!!!!"
Seriously though, any chance of doing one of those nifty runtime graphs for this light?

I don't yet have room here to set the equipment up, sorry about that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
I tried to install the program on my laptop about two months back, but it doesn't run on it - I tried that already. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Waterproof? NO! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
As for that photograph looking "down the barrel", that much I can do...BBS...

More waterproof than a sponge? YES! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm curious to see if the emitter looks anything like a Lux.

Thanks for the picture of the business end of the light. The emitter looks like a miniature...I don't know. Is the emitter on a pedestal like a Lux or stands up like a Nichia?

I read something which said the lens was glass, not plastic. Any confirmation on that?

[/ QUOTE ]
It's plastic. Polycarbonate to be specific, but still plastic.
I tried to cut through it with a knife, and was successful. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
O, the things I do to poor innocent defenseless helpless little flashlights in the name of science. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

168mA? Nowhere near 1/2 watt then - more like 1/4 watt from the battery, who knows what after the converter losses. Still, not too bad for a little light!

Go ahead and give it the works Craig. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
If it does fail, It's back to the drawing board for me before I sell more.

What's the highest reading you have ever gotten Craig?
Just for anyone's curiousity.

Thank you for giving me permission to perform the smack test. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I'll do that test early this afternoon - after Apollo 13 on the boob tube is over.

The highest reading I've ever obtained was 3,130,000mcd from a Space Needle II flashlight. And it uses a Luxeon V, not a Luxeon III.
