I don't know why this descrepency exists...maybe I just metered it wrong...let's go try that again...BRB...
Disposables 1,010mA, rechargeables 1,284mA.
So there's your answer...operator error in using a DMM. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
Let me go update the web page before I forget to do that.

New evaluation: Leopard Dynamo LED Torch

After having been advised there may be a 2.2 ohm resistor in the Orb's tailcap, I remeasured with the tailcap as part of the circuit, and obtained a reading of 713mA.
This is in contrast to the 1,999mA to 2,049mA readings I was getting previous.

No, this is the new Freedom Fusion, which is different enough in operation and optically from the original to merit its own web page. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just did the knife test on my CPF Orb - needless to say that was not a very wise thing to do.
Now my Orb has a mark on it that will stay there forever. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif :toliet: /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

Would I really try to cut up a brand spanking new and limited-edition flashlight?
You bet your sugar-coated toliet muscle I would, if it's in the name of science. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Can you post a pic of the cpf logo'ed/ Ledmuseum scratched Orb?
IMO I think you just made yours even more of a collector's item Craig. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

There it is...look under the "O" in "Orb". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Guess I can't sell this Orb as "new" anymore. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Frankly, Craig, any light "scored" by you in the name of flashaholism testing is destined to become a collector's item, IMHO. Any such dings or dents are merely marks of distinction, and as such should probably be autographed and dated by you personally. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif

Hey! Is the Aitec 'Sure Grip' able to "saw through other flashlights"? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When I tried sawing through another flashlight, the anodizing on the texturising on the AT3100L's barrel started to wear off, so I stopped sawing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The victimised flashlight suffered only very, very, very minor damage; from what I can tell, a small amount of anodizing on the barrel was worn off.
