Hey guys, here are a few *BAD* pics of my new custom SOG Vulcan... by Chase Axis (Chax knives).
Basically, he took the old scales and liners out and replaced them with rosewood and carbon fiber - so this is my version of the BM 690 now!
Chase was a wonder to work with - extremely polite and down to earth. I highly recommend him if you want custom work done!

i seriously should learn no to look at these custom builds.. wether it be flashlights and knives.. seriously, they make my fingers itch to make one or have one made for me (the wood part i think i could do..the fiber, not.)

very sweet looking thing you have there.

2 questions..
1: have a picture of the "other" side too? (i think they all show only one side of the knife?
2: rear of the handle, why the lower screw looks to be so deep compared to the one above it? was the screw so short it didnt reach the threads without deep hole? (if thats so.. are the threads so custom kind that one couldnt find a longer screw to replace it so the 2 screwtops would be in even height?)

nice knife anyways..

(i have one sog twitch that could use a scales.. the fake twitch with plastic scales.. yeah that might be nice with some hardwood scales..) argh. no. stop thinking that! :)

It is a customized knife, NOT a custom knife.

The wood and CF look great together!

I disagree. It is still a custom knife. Just because the brand and model belong to SOG doesn't mean it isn't a newly made custom knife. I had the knife custom made.. you can disagree and say it is an adjective - customized.

I don't care. It isn't wrong, incorrect or impinging on anyone's rights to ownership. I labeled it as a SOG knife which it still is.

I'm not sure about the screw - Chase had to remake the entire scales because I had him not re-make new liners. I don't know if this affected the screws or not.

I will post new pics later - I didn't get any pics of the other side did I? It does have the standard SOG clip still... so it isn't any different looking with the exception of the clip.
