I found this guy on Amazon for $10.99! I'm not really a fan of rechargeables, but this one seemed easy enough - it came with a 14500 and a USB-C cord. It took about an hour to fully charge, but it can also run on standard AA with a reduction in performance. It has two operating modes; low and high, controlled by the tail switch. Pretty simple - press once = low, press twice = high. The literature from the company says that when using the supplied rechargeable battery low is 57 lumens and high is 659 lumens (with a standard AA low is still 57 and high is 235; still not too shabby). While I don't have a way to measure this I know it really lights up my back yard when our dog has to pee in the middle of the night. I've been using it both on and off duty this week and have really learned to like the low setting initially - it doesn't blind me when I'm trying to look at something up close. I don't know how long the charge will last so I'll report on that later. My biggest gripe so far is the lack of texturing on the body; it's pretty slick. Other than that it's a winner so far!

Nice score!

For a temporary fix, you can always put a few rubber bands on the body of it for grip. Replace them as needed.
If you aren't concerned about the looks you can apply liquid rubber/silicon on it.
Will no longer look pretty but you won't drop it.
