Well, it's my first post on this forum, so please sorry for my may be stupid questions :)
I'm going to buy this flashlight: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29069 and this will be my primary divelight for dives in local lakes and sometimes in Red sea.
Seems this flashlight is quite good and cheap, but I'd like to modify it to make a burning time longer. My idea is to make a canister-type by shortening of mainbody and connecting it to self-made canister.
So my questions are:
1. Is it in general a crazy idea or it's possible?
2. If I will use more electic elements to power the flashlight (4~6 instead of factory 2) will it extend the burning time?
3. What do you think about my idea to use the aluminium body of old long and fat Maglight torch as canister?
4. Which parts you can advise me for connecting the wire thru body of head and canister and what is the best to use for switch?

Thanks a lot in advance for any help !

Burn time is not that bad. What about just replacing the battery when needed?

It is not a crazy idea. I am doing a similar project for a diver in Canada here:

For that project I am basically taking a head from a handheld diving-rated flashlight, and creating a short body to connect to an existing canister. You can use various cable glands, like the Agro from OxyCheck (see their DIY section):

Didn't a torch similar to that shape (I remember the big ribs on the front) get suggested here a while ago? Not sure if its the same one, but I remember people saying that it wouldn't be a very good light for diving. However if you are making heavy mods to it, then it probably doesn't matter. Guess I better just stop now :)

Im curious... the Sartek 6600 light have 660 lumens and this one 900. It is a similar light beam? Is there a big difference between the 2 model?

I ordered this light too. I haven't seen a single review yet. If anybody has any experience with this light, would you chime in.
