New to this forum, but have had small spotlights for years. I use them to locate varmits and lost cattle and general security on the farm. I had an old light(?) that cast quite a spot, but alas the battery finally died. Plan to take it apart to see if can replace. Picked up a vector 184 sport spot recently and am pleased with it, however there seems to be more spillage than with my other light, its ok but not exactly what i was looking for. it was $22.00 at sams, has the 100 w halogen bulb. Is there any do's and don'ts with this light? After reading here about the various lights, now i want to look at the professional favorite at advanced auto, but cant find any detailed info about it. btw, this is a great forum, stumbled onto in researching lights. thanks, chuck

:welcome:

How many million candlepower is the Vec 184 from Sam's? Is it rechargeable? If it is a rechargeable halogen spotlight then the only thing you need to worry about is fully charging it after each use to keep the battery in good condition.

I own the Professional's Favorite 17.5 million candlepower from Advance Auto, and it is one of the most incredible lights I have ever owned! It has a super thin spot beam that will illuminate objects up to a mile away, and will easily light up a large farm from end to end. It has a 120W bulb and 9'' lense/reflector. It is rechargeable, but also runs from its direct 12V DC car adaptor.
I own many 2 million candlepower spotlights, and many others 3 million-10 million candlepower, and the Professiona's Favorite blows them all away and makes them look dim and weak. The Professional's Favorite even out throws my Power On Board HID spotlight. I also own a 15 million candlpower, but it doesn't have as thin a spot beam as the Pro's Favorite. I hope you decide on the Professional's Favorite as it is so amazing.

Thanks Bluebeam for the recommendation of the pro favorite, will be getting it as soon as find one. The vec 184 is 2mcp, it just came out at sam's recently. It doesnt say 2 on the box, but i found a review of it online where its suppose to be 2m and apparently the same light under a different number. You guys may have me hooked on something here, there goes the bling for my bike.

The Professional's Favorite will throw around 4 times farther than a 2mcp and its hotspot is so unbelievably bright that it is hard to look at indoors. I know you will love it as I sure do enjoy mine!

Hi, first time post but I've been lurking for a few months.

I just recently bought this light from Sam's as well. Works great for what I need and the price was definitely right. I primarily need it as a spotlight from the vehicle which it is a little heavy for continuous use. I decided to try and take it apart and see if it would still work w/ the 12v car charger w/o the SLA battery. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to.

Wondering if there is an easy fix to this? I am completely new to messing with wires and modding lights but I'd appreciate any help.
