Newbie with Flashlight

I found an old 2 C cell maglight so I bought some cheap C batterys, turned it on and I could get more light with a lighter!! Are there any ways to get a much brighter light out of this flashlight? Im aware of the ROG mod for the D cell lights but can I do something with the C?

Also with the ROG mod could you use one of those 9V square batteries?

One more question.... Is there a way to mod those big square lights you get with the massive battery (6V or 9V i believe)??

Sorry for the newb questions... I dont want to ruin my light as I dont have much electrical experience.

I believe the head and bulb on the C mag is the same as the D mag, so any drop-in should work, such as the TerraLux.

the 2C maglight is perfect for the ROP mod. I personally used a 2C mag, CPF member "download" Mag c tower heatsink and kit to convert to 2x18650, glass lens and metal reflector for what I consider an "ultimate" ROP...it'll run for as long as the batteries hold out without melting any of the internals.

If you mean a 9V battery such as smoke detectors use, not a whole lot you can do with that to produce a bright light.

As for sourcing one outside the US, I imagine you can probably find a domestic supplier -- just search for "TerraLUX TLE-6EXB" on Google Shopping or something. If not, I believe BatteryJunction does international shipping.
