As far as I can tell, that term gained popularity from the Andúril 1 “muggle mode” that disables advanced features. It may have been used by some before that, but it definitely helped its spread.

not that I know of... I've only seen it once, when someone referred to his non-flashoholic friends as "muggles" when lending a flashlight.
Other than being cringe, it's also kinda fascist to be honest

oh I meant it in the ancient rome kinda way, not the post-WW1 italy kinda way, I meant it's pretty elitist/pompous/arrogant
