Any idea what it takes to get these leds in the US? There are a few overseas retailers but they're not yet at store.nichia.com (which did start carrying 500CS leds fairly quickly after their debut).

I guess I might try ordering some from led-tech.de, for around $1.50 per led vs 80 cents for 500CS from the Nichia store. Impressive beam shot here:

I ordered and paid for 100 Nichia DS LEDS in early December from WeLight (who indicated he had thousands on hand) and have not received them yet. Emailing and PMing him have been very unresponsive as well.

Expensive ($12.50 for 5, plus $5-12 shipping), but AmiLite appears to have the new GS's for sale (W rank, supposedly) -

Anybody have experience (good or bad) ordering from AmiLite? I might just have to go that route.

p.s. - I'm really curious as to what that super-mini driver is that ARC mania discovered, in the post paulr linked to... anybody have an idea?

I got mine from led-tech but I also ordered other stuff too.

If I have only wanted the leds(10) then I would have ordered from amilite.

I'm getting 20mA, 40mA and 50mA circuit from ARC mania to see how they perform with GS leds.

Sure would like to try a few of the GS-K1's. Comparison pictures I've seen are
great. Will be following all this.

Cheers, Gordon

Newbie here. Can the new GS K1 leds just plug and replace the original leds? How much can gain in terms of lumens(percentage)? Or must get the microconveter to solder onto the lead of the leds then can achieve noticeable gains? Thanks.
